2012 Fäsi Crest Organic Syrah


Made with organic grapes



Full bodied, yet elegant Syrah with a velvety, silky finish. Nose is full of berries, with hints of clove and petals of violets and roses. Initial flavor of fruit in the mouth are full. Smooth, soft, with hints of black berry, boysenberry and mountain berry, slight anise, near black tea and orange zest and –rind, spicy, with white pepper falling particularly in the mid-palate.

Wine Maker Notes:

Joshua Smith, Assistant Winemaker – This Syrah is a lively example of what an Organic wine can be. There are no preservatives in this wine other than those naturally produced by the grapes and yeast. What you taste is a wine in one of its more unadulterated forms. 100% Syrah all from the Fasi Estate Vineyard, grown, Fermented, aged, and bottled as one wine. The wine has aged for 12 months in a mix of French and American Oak. Best to open the wine a half hour before consumption, to allow the bouquet to develop


7 tons/acre. Grapes are handpicked. Vineyard sits along the San Joaquin River, where the micro climate guarantees significantly cooler nights (- 10° F) than in the rest of the valley
